The Islanders are in the midst of a three game slump and many fans would expect some change to the Islanders lineup for tomorrow’s rematch against the Pittsburgh Penguins. But according to Islanders head coach Jack Capuano it hasn’t crossed his mind.
“As a coach you think about that,” Capuano said following Tuesdays 3-0 loss to the Penguins. “But I mean we had 33 shots tonight, we had 17-18 scoring chances tonight. It’s not like we played real bad or poorly. I thought that the guys worked hard and they created some offense, so it hasn’t really crossed my mind yet.”
John Tavares was also asked about the possibilities of line changes after last night’s game.
“I don’t know,” Tavares said in response. “I mean I think tonight’s the best, in the last few games, where we generated chances and offense and guys were skating well and the forecheck was much better. I’m not sure, but whatever happens we still have to be a little better in some areas and find a way to put a few more in the net.”
