The Islanders get set to take on the Penguins at the Coliseum tonight. The Islanders will look for redemption after they were shut out in Pittsburgh and Rick Dipietro was one punched by Brent Johnson.
Tonight will be a brand new goalie Tandem from last week, joining Mikko Koskinen will be recent trade acquisition Al Montoya. With Montoya joining the Islanders today Joel Martin was sent back down to Bridgeport. General consensus is that Al Montoya will get the start for the Islanders tonight.
The Isles called up Micheal Haley today from AHL Bridgeport. Haley is remember from a season ago when he jumped the board to come to the defense of Kyle Okposo after he was blindsided by Dion Phaneuf.
The Islanders also placed Jeremy Colliton on IR with a rib injury.
On the Penguins side, tonight’s probable starter in goal is Brent “one punch” Johnson. The Penguins also had a call up today, Eric tangradi joins the pens to fill in for Dustin Jeffery, who left last night’s game with a right leg injury.
