Sim Placed On Waivers As Schremp Returns; Jurcina Sidelined 2-4 Weeks. | November

The Isles placed forward Jon Sim on waivers today, and assuming he clears he will make his season debut with Bridgeport. He was signed on a two way contract, which means he could play on the Isles or with Bridgeport.

Rob Schremp will make his season debut after being sidelined these first 11 games with a lower body injury, so I can guess that's why Sim was placed on the waiver wire. Should a team pick Simmer up? I doubt it. He was placed on waivers by the Isles many times in the past and never was picked up but maybe a team needs some physical presence in their locker room.

Milan Jurcina will be out 2-4 weeks which was announced today, with a hamstring injury. Bruno Gervais will take his place. Bruno must be happy to get some ice time and Hillen is in for MacDonald so both of the defensemen can get some action in.

Also, Fylers center Danny Briere has been suspended for three games for his slash to Nielsen late in the third period Saturday night, which caused DiPietro to get fired up. I agree with this suspension, and it will also sideline him vs the Islanders on Saturday at the Coliseum. That should be an interesting game, I wouldn't put DP in net though. Roloson can take his place fighting Carcillo.
