According to Katie Strang from Newsday, Rick DiPietro will not return this season. Garth Snow does expect him to "return to top form" by next season. DiPietrohas played a total of 8 games and has a record of 2-5-0 with one shutout against the New Jersey Devils in which the Islanders beat them 4-0.

The Isles will face the New York Rangers again. This time, it will be at the Coliseum. The Isles lost 5-0 last week to the Rangers. So, this one should be an exciting one with a mix of Islander and Ranger fans making noise at the rink.

Last night, the Isles beat the Blue Jackets 4-3 in OT. The Isles regulation goals were scored by Okposo(his 17th) and Sim(his 11th). Then, in overtime, Josh Bailey put it home for his 15th goal of the season.

The Isles are now standing in 11th place with a record of 31-34-10. They still have a slim chance at the playoffs, in my opinion. We will see what goes on in these upcoming games. Maybe its time to call in Wade Dubielewicz, who led us to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2007. But then again, Biron and Roloson possibly could do the same.
