Well, I said it was highly unlikely, but it happened! Two games in a row the Islanders have defied the odds.

On Thursday, beating a Philadelphia team who hasn't lost to the Islanders in 16 games by a final score of 6-4. Blake Comeau put up another stellar performance, scoring 2 goals. Additionally, the NHL's punching bag Jon Sim registered 3 points; 1 goal and 2 assists.

When asked about breaking the 16 game losing streak to Philadelphia, former Flyers goalie and winning goalie for the islanders Marty Biron noted that "It's not so much the streak, it's what we can accomplish -- how we can try to scramble things for teams...We have to learn to win, and win big," he added. "We have to be able to put teams away and not let them crawl back into the game. For the most part, we did that."

Then Today, royal blue-clad and ready to fight the Islanders took on the red-hot Senators, and after jumping out to a 3 goal lead in the 2nd period thanks to John Tavares (22), Dylan Reese (2), and Jack Hillen (2) there was no turning back, the Islanders shellacking Ottawa by a final score of 4-1.

Also:

-Trevor Gillies is becoming quite the NHL tough guy, he got into a nice fight last game vs Philly and today he took down Ottawa's Matt Carkner. PS: This pic doesnt have it but Trevor Gillies has the most epic handlebar mustache ever.

- JT91 scored his 22nd goal of the season, putting him in 2nd among all rookies in goals, just one goal behind Matt Duchene,  Also getting his 49th point, he is just one away from a 50-point season. JOHN!!-TA!!-VA!!-RES!!!!

-In Andy Sutton's return to the Coliseum in a Senators uniform, he was given a Cross Check, a Roughing, and a 10 minute Game Misconduct SIMULTANEOUSLY after beating up NHL punching bag Jon Sim and for no apparent reason, grabbing Frans Neilsen in a headlock. Sutton was escorted off the ice to a cavalcade of boos. -- Hey guys, I didn't understand why we had to trade Andy last month, I always thought he was a key player, but now I see why we got rid of him.

Bottom Line, Andy: You don't punch your former teammates in the face as a way of saying hello. That's called being a goon, that word sounds familiar... Hmm... who else used to do things like that?..... OH Yeah! This guy!! Chris Simon!!

In fact, this guy was such a D-bag that we sent him to Russia!!!
